They are here in Iowa while their husbands are off fighting for our country. Friday, the brides-to-be of military members got a special thank you for their sacrifice.
Bridal Connection in Ankeny offered free dresses to several women.
The shop owner says her husband served in the navy for 26-years and just recently retired.
She says this is their way of giving back to those who serve.
?There?s absolutely no pressure on the brides, they can try on several dresses and they don?t have to worry about price point, it?s just a free gift we give them,? says owner Lara Bunkers.
This Ankeny event is part of a bigger national effort called Brides Across America.
